It's Not Yet A Bad Day!
I am so so sorry! I sincerely apologize for being so rude, saucy
and unfriendly. I apologize in case my moody countenance had pissed you off two
days ago. It wasn't really my fault. I hadn't bargained nor prepared for my
experience on the first day of the week.
You would understand right? You know I wouldn't behave that
badly if the day had evolved as planned; if a senior colleague hadn't made away
with the office key thereby making me search fruitlessly; if my boss hadn't
greeted me with a ridiculously unprofessional assignment; if I haven't had to
go to the bank in such a sunny morning; if the teller machine hadn't swallowed
my card; if my temper wasn't aroused by the deafening horn of the vehicles and
motorcycles; if my head hadn't ache.....so went my day and before midday, my instinct
proclaimed how terrible the day was going to be.
Believe me, it was few minutes past 10:00, and the smile had
left my face, my head had dropped in confusion and concerned friend were asking
if I was sick. Just in time, He reminded me to ask for His help, rather than
settle for the worst in such an early hour of the day. I yielded to His wisdom
and Word and before you could say Jack, things started changing; the wind
started blowing gently, it refreshed my body and the ache ceased; at the
office, my boss had withdrawn the annoying request; a friend made my meal ready...
So I moved from being moody to being happy, am so glad I hadn't believed the
worst.
So now I understand you if you're having it bad in one way
or the other already, maybe the landlord just reminded you of your debts; you
missed a test; your health is deteriorating; a loved one is hospitalized or
your fiance just canceled your date.... Wait! Your dinner is yet to be ruined.
I know you can't hold your resentment now, I know smile has vacated your lips
and you're possibly dragging yourself along. Hey! Its too early to call quit.
Here is the word of the Lord:
"I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living." Psalms 27:13 NIV.
Yours may be a season of waiting endlessly for the trial to
pass, God is saying you should hang on and keep the faith. It may be cloudy,
raining or stormy, it doesn't matter as long as He's right before and beside
you. Why don't you pray for God's help rather than pass that offense abroad.
If you allow your emotions to follow the trend of things,
you'll soon hurt people. True is the saying, "hurt people will hurt people".
Now is the time to pray, its time to pick up yourself, raise your head and walk
in victory. You've got a big God, why carry the burden by yourself?. Ask for
His help and you'll smile again.
I later saw my experience on Monday as a test, having passed
it through His help, I've not stopped rejoicing, God had practically swept me
off my feet with surprises. Yours is the next. It's too early to settle for a
bad day.
